Southampton FC

The Saints Disability Supporters Association (DSA) were always concerned with the fact that passionate away fans tended to surge forward at exciting moments during the match creating a significant safety issue for ambulant and wheelchair supporters situated in the front row.

The club however always said that the stewards were in control and the control room overlooked that area/corner of the stadium.

Then an away supporter from Manchester United was injured and the barriers were installed shortly after.

As with a lot of improvements, the DSA discussed at length with the club what they considered necessary.

The DSA for Southampton were the driving force behind this improvement.

Congratulations to Andy Mather and his team.
