Lord Justice Taylor’s report into the Hillsborough tragedy stated that “complacency is the enemy of safety”. That quote is as relevant today as it was 30 years ago – we must never be complacent.

The vast majority of incidents affecting disabled supporters occur in the away section of the ground which ironically in many cases has the least safety features!

Disabled home fans with issues are constantly in touch with club management to gain resolution but away fans visit once a year and have little voice.

The few times the DAG organisation have influenced significant changes to stadiums has, regrettably, been in the aftermath of disabled supporters being seriously injured.

After scoring a goal, players run to their supporters section of the stadium to celebrate thereby encouraging fans to fight their way to the edge of the pitch.
