Bournemouth FC Report

Two serious safety issues arose at the Vitality Stadium. See correspondence below.

1) The failure of the one disabled lift servicing the elevated away area which resulted in an Arsenal wheelchair supporter being trapped and the stewards untrained and without an evac chair to rescue him.

2) The lack of protection of away disabled supporters, both wheelchair based and ambulant at the front of the away area.

Without any protective barriers for disabled away supporters, a wheelchair user and an ambulant fan are in the middle of this melee!

A wheelchair user stranded after the one lift failed.

Having to be man handled down from the stand. How would they have coped in a real emergency with multiple wheelchairs to evacuate?
